ELECTRONIC SECURITY SPECIALIST

JOB SUMMARY

The Electronic Security Specialist is the primary technical expert for electronic security projects. This role ensures the successful implementation of new products and solutions, provides technical support to the field team, and coordinates effectively with administrative teams and customers to deliver high-quality security solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, configure, commission, maintain, and repair electronic security systems to a high professional standard.
  • Conduct accurate site surveys and translate customer requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware faults and implement effective, long-term fixes.
  • Perform quality checks on installations and interventions, including testing, labelling, tidy workmanship, and customer handover.
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians and act as the escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Deliver short training sessions to upskill the technical team on new products, system configurations, and networking basics.
  • Provide clear and accurate technical information and reports to Sales and Administration when required.
  • Review and validate technical job cards, surveys, and reports as needed.
  • Examine security systems to confirm correct configuration, diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with management and colleagues to ensure projects and work orders are completed efficiently.
  • Stay up to date with new products, systems, and industry developments.
  • Be available during normal working hours and outside working hours during standby periods.
  • Remain on call outside working hours and attend assigned sites in case of emergencies, as directed by the Line Manager.

  • Ability to gain in-depth knowledge of product features and stay updated on industry trends to provide sound technical advice.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum HSC qualification.
  • Diploma or degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is an advantage.
  • At least three years’ experience in a similar role or within the electronic security industry is a strong advantage.
